Sorry if this topic has already beem discussed. It just seems that I have not been able to find a straight awnser about it. So I have recently purchased the Microsoft 'Lifechat LX-3000' microphone. The sound in my headset works fine but it seems that the microphone either makes a screeching sound, or sometimes it does not work at all. From the research I have gathered it seems that the software/drivers that automatically install when plugged in or the cd is put in are designed for windows XP. I looked on the microsoft website and was able to find the driver download for windows vista. I downloaded the software and thought that everything was okay and it was for about 1 day. Then the same problems started happeing to me all over again.

It seems that whenever I plug in my microphone to the computer USB port it just automatically installs the XP drivers even though I already have the vista ones installed.
