Defrag Manager fully integrates with Microsoft Active Directory, which simplifies managing and maintaining the defragmentation process on Windows systems throughout the enterprise. Defrag Manager remotely schedules, deploys, monitors, and controls defragmentation throughout a Windows-based network from a single console, without requiring any installations on client systems or new, continuously running services. All defragmentation tasks are controlled and configured from one system according to schedules set by the administrator -- regardless of the number of computers in the network or the physical location of the machines. With Defrag Manager's proprietary SmartBind(TM) feature, a Windows administrator can simplify defragmentation tasks even further by dragging or copying an Active Directory Organizational Unit (OU) onto a schedule, and binding the schedule to the OU. Defrag Manager then automatically defragments every computer in the OU, and computers that are added or removed from the OU are likewise adjusted in the corresponding Defrag Manager schedule. SmartBind ensures that computers will be defragged on schedule even if they are renamed or replaced. 'Microsoft Active Directory provides organization with an integrated infrastructure for centrally managing and securing their Windows networks,' said Michael Stephenson, director of Windows Server Product Management at Microsoft.
